Medair

Context

Medair implements emergency nutrition, health, WASH and food security projects targeting displaced, conflict- and drought-affected vulnerable populations in central and southern Afghanistan. Resilience and early recovery projects are aimed at long term and sustainable behaviour change in the general population to improve public health.

Purpose

Establish documentation, framework and provide guidance for Medair’s anticipated application for BHA funding for a consortium.

Workplace & Conditions

Remote.

Starting Date / Initial Contract Details

November 2022. 14 working days (Sunday to Thursday). Exact days to be negotiated, depending on availability of in-country/GSO staff. Initial plan for 06-10 November, and 16-20 November 2022 (ASAP preferred).

Output

  1. Drafting of partner MoU/governance manual
  2. Due diligence processing
  3. Budget setting and advice
  4. Structural advice
  5. 4 x 1.5hr meetings with consortium organisations, country management, GSO staff.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors in Economics, Political or Social Sciences, Statistical Analysis, International Development, or related field. Masters preferred.
  • Experience with USAID/BHA grant management, pre and post award
  • Thorough knowledge of BHA guidelines
  • Experience as a Consortium Coordinator
  • Thorough understanding and experience of NGO partnerships
  • Proven capacity for analysing and synthetizing comprehensive information and technical data
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and manual/ SOPs
  • Excellent written and spoken English including editing documents in English
  • Commitment to the aims, vision, and principles of Medair.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with BHA funding
  • Experience or knowledge of working with Medair
  • Experience or knowledge of working in Afghanistan / South or Central Asia.
