Job Purpose

The job aims to ensure compliance to adopted procedures, policies and systems in the White Helmets Department and examining their efficiency and effectiveness in accordance with the host country (Turkiye).

Responsibilities

  • General administrative tasks
  • Help developing the Auditing and Compliance Department operational plans.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with the Department’s staff regarding work in the Department.
  • Help prepare periodical reports about the Department’s job performance.
  • Participate in the internal and external meetings assigned to her/him.
  • Suggest proposals and development initiatives for the Department.

Technical task

  • Participate in preparing and reviewing compliance policies and procedures manual concerning compliance to Turkish laws.
  • Reviews adhering to the compliance requirements to the Turkish laws with the supporting departments and supervises consultations regarding compliance and government auditing.
  • Audit the work of the legal accountant of the White Helmets and his/her adherence to the governing policies and procedures.
  • Follow-up on the government laws and systems affecting the work of the White Helmets and changes and implement necessary procedures to examine and provide consultation to the other departments to adhere to the new laws or changes in laws.
  • Help the Internal Auditing Department Management to determine the scope of auditing.
  • Identify weaknesses in the internal auditing and operational cycles and suggest solutions to address them.
  • Implement auditing processes for all departments in accordance with the auditing plan.
  • Help the Internal Auditing Department in conducting the risk assessment for the White Helmets.
  • Conduct field visits to all administrative units in accordance with the auditing plan.
  • Document ongoing auditing operations and participate in preparing the initial report on results, problems and suggested solutions.
  • Participate in training staff on anti-fraud and corruption policies and raise awareness of the importance of internal auditing.
  • Participate in investigations especially in cases of fraud or corruption upon request from the Higher Management.
  • Perform other tasks assigned to him/her related to the nature of the job.

Note: the above-mentioned responsibilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart or title.

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)

  1. Essential:
  • University degree in financial and administrative management or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience in support departments including 1 year in relief organizations.
  • Native in Arabic, proficient in Turkish and good English skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills
  • Knowledge of Turkish Labor Law
  • Problem-solving and working in different work environments.
  • Knowledge of Turkish legal regulations.
  1. Desirable:
  • Master degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in Compliance or related work in humanitarian sector (NGOs/INGOs)
  • Very Good level in English Language.
