We are currently recruiting a Compliance Coordinator to join our Ethics and Compliance team, ideally based in London UK; Eastern United States; or other Relief International program country. This is a Homebased position, with some travel to the office, as required.

Note you must have the right to work in your remote home based location and that national terms and conditions apply.

About the opportunity

You will support the Ethics & Compliance team in ensuring accountable and robust systems, ethical incident management and effective risk management. You will work with a diverse range of stakeholders across our international country and regional programs, to provide administrative support to the reporting and management of incidents, and the follow up of recommendations following investigation. You will also support updates to RI’s Ethics and Security Incident Reporting and Management Policy, as well as other policies in the Ethics and Compliance Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that incidents are promptly logged in the Incident Management system
  • Support in coordinating reporting and improvements to internal processes
  • Work with Technical Case leads to ensure that category 1 – 3 incidents are resolved within 60 days, in line with RI policy and procedures
  • Maintain the tracker for recommendations following investigations
  • Follow up on the level of implementation of the recommendations
  • Contribute towards a culture that encourages the reporting of concerns and allegations
  • Work closely with the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer (CECO), Chief of Security, and their teams to coordinate the management of RI’s responses to incidents and required disclosures to donors.
  • Support the CECO, Investigations Director and senior management team in providing regular reports on Incident Management to stakeholders including Management and the Board, drawing out key trends and learning.
  • Participate in and contribute to meetings with stakeholders and related training events
  • Support the team in meeting external reporting requirements to the donors and regulators

About you

You will bring the following experience and skills.

  • Commitment to the organization’s vision and mission, and a good understanding of and appreciation for Relief International’s values and humanitarian principles
  • A good and practical understanding of the principles and practice of good governance in international not-for profit organizations.
  • Experience of working on case management, either in an incident management capacity or other relevant experience
  • A high degree of flexibility and adaptability in order to respond to changing needs
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written command of the English language
  • Confident in working with online database systems, including PowerBi or other data visualization software
  • Experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating respect for, and understanding of, cultural differences
  • Previous experience in working within humanitarian and development sector desirable
  • Fluency in Arabic language (spoken and written) desirable
  • Ability to travel internationally on occasion for short periods, as requested desirable
