We have an exciting opportunity to recruit to a Community Team Manager posts, managing the under 18 Child and Family teams in the East. The team is in the East of Suffolk offering mental health interventions for this client group.

The Community Team Manager role is responsible for the operational management of a range of aspects of service delivery within the team and for clinical/managerial supervision of professional staff according to the trust values.

Responsible for the operational management of the service delivery within the service.

Provide visible leadership, promoting a values based culture and acting as a role model within the environment.

Responsible for leading and managing the team, ensuring they are suitably trained, informed and competent to carry out the full range of their duties, and that mechanisms are in place for regular and effective supervision, appraisal, objective setting and personal development planning.

Responsibility for ensuring safe staffing levels are maintained according to service budget.

Responsible for ensuring systems are in place to allocate new caseloads and efficient use of resources to ensure caseloads and the management of caseloads remain safe.

Contribute to MDT decisions regarding care based on their knowledge and expertise. Ensure care is delivered in a patient centred framework involving service users, families and carers.

This is an exciting time of Transformation of mental health services in Suffolk, which has created opportunities, not only for services to recognise and consolidate what they are doing well, but also to drive creativity to radically change service delivery. These changes are driven by the needs of local communities, with the aim of embedding mental health services within the community and truly bringing the expertise to where it is needed.

NSFT in collaboration with the Suffolk alliance partners are striving to deliver services within the ‘Thrive’ framework. This is going to require significant system changes across Suffolk to realise the goal of a whole system approach. It will be essential to engage the expertise, skills, experience and passion of clinicians, allied professionals and service users from a wide range of backgrounds, disciplines and specialisms to achieve this goal.
