For nearly 20 years, the Forum of Young Global Leaders (YGL) has invested in, developed, and inspired a remarkable group of leaders worldwide to move beyond their professional success to engage in greater impact on society and our planet, individually and collectively. Our growing membership of more than 1,500 members and alumni from 120 nationalities includes leaders from business, government, civil society, the arts, and academia.
The YGL programme accelerates the influence of values-based leaders on the world, with a particular focus on systemic change and collaboration. We are recruiting a Community Specialist to help engage, support and mobilize Young Global Leaders during their 3-year leadership journey.
The team is seeking a Community Specialist to lead the engagement of Young Global Leaders based in Latin America. This is a permanent position.
Reporting Lines & Interactions:
The Community Specialist role is based in Geneva and will report to the Community Lead, South Asia/ASEAN, and Member Relations
Main responsibilities:
Community Management, Latin America
- Steward the leadership journey and community engagement of YGLs from Latin America to achieve a sense of community cohesion and desire for social impact
- Identify and support Local Chairs to strengthen the community at the local level
- Encourage collaboration among YGLs on shared interests, helping to shape and build momentum around community impact
- Lead the selection of YGLs from Latin America, liaising with relevant teams across the World Economic Forum to guide nominations
- Champion members’ interests and expertise within the World Economic Forum, coordinating their involvement with Centres, initiatives, communities, and events
- Maintain digital community management practices, including maintaining digital connections across the community and updating data and records
- Manage membership fee follow-ups and YGL membership updates in the region
Community Programming
- Contribute to the design and delivery of flagship events such as the Young Global Leaders Annual Summit and Alumni Summit
- Support programme delivery, including executive education modules, virtual programming, and learning journeys
- Coordinate with community members on YGL-led events, particularly in Latin America
- Capture learnings and drive continuous feedback, identifying areas for growth and improvement
- Contribute content to knowledge products and communications channels
The successful candidate will be assessed on:
- Engaging YGLs from Latin America in community efforts and events, as well as the broader work of the World Economic Forum
- Contributing to the design and delivery of the Young Global Leaders’ annual programme
- Supporting the team in delivering on objectives for Community Engagement and Selection of the new class
Preferred requirements and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in international relations, social science, business management, non-profit management, or related field; Master´s degree an asset
- 3-5- years of professional experience, preferably in the non-profit sector, membership organisation, or an events-based organization
- Excellent relationship management skills and proven track record of working with senior stakeholders across sectors
- Experience in fostering inclusion and belonging within diverse communities
- Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to effectively and confidentially communicate and write in both languages
- Ability to manage complex projects and to work effectively across multiple priorities
- Proficiency in MS Office/Excel/PowerPoint and Salesforce
- Digital native who is at ease working with a variety of digital and social media platforms
- Team player and self-starter who enjoys working in a highly dynamic setting
