**Job Overview:**The Community Outreach Navigator is responsible for coordinating services and referrals for IRC clients to ensure their needs are promptly identified and met and they are able to access community support. This role is a regular, full-time position through September 2023 with possibility of extension.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in providing comprehensive and required services to IRC clients who need assistance navigating U.S. systems.
  • Assist with enrollment in social services (including Supplemental Security Income, or SSI, application) that IRC client is eligible to receive.
  • Support timely provision and coordination of medical, dental and mental health services when needed, particularly for clients with serious health conditions.
  • Assist clients with resolving barriers to accessing services, including transportation, language access, and financial barriers.
  • Assist in the development of a wide variety of messaging, video, and other outreach materials that are culturally and linguistically appropriate and that can be distributed through trusted channels to IRC client communities.
  • Coordinate participation in surveys, focus groups and interviews that are population and demographic specific, assessing clients’ knowledge of topics, attitudes and practices
  • Assist office and project leadership in identifying and addressing barriers client communities face
  • Ensure compliance with both case file management and reporting requirements. This entails regular and timely maintenance of hard-copy and/or electronic files per donor funding requirements. Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities, and other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures and protocols of the agency, placing importance on client confidentiality.
  • Review, edit, and provide feedback on produced content and other materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education: Completed High School diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience:

  • Experience in community outreach.
  • Strong connection and relationship with local client community members.

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written, as well as bilingual ability in locally relevant community language(s) such as [Arabic, Swahili, Dari, Ukrainian, Burmese, Tigrinya, or Nepali.]

  • Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.

  • Proven track record of contributing both independently and as a key team member.

  • Self- starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.

  • Ability to work remotely and access to reliable Internet.

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about social media.

  • Comfort with appearing on various media outlets including, video, radio, etc.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Familiar with Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) and Integra.

Working Environment:**

  • A combination of standard office environment (currently remote) with potential ‘field’ time in and around the service delivery area.
  • May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
