Salary and grade: £19,000 – £25,000 per annum (pro rata)

Hours: Part-time permanent contract; 22.5 hrs per week

Location: ShelterBox Head Office, Truro, Cornwall

Role purpose:

This is an exciting time at ShelterBox, and as we grow our national reach, community fundraising is crucial to increasing public awareness, recruiting new supporters and raising funds.

The Community Fundraising Assistant will support the Community Team in the development of resources and communication journeys to our key audiences, helping to provide amazing supporter experiences.

Focused on the day to day communications and administration of our fundraiser and volunteers, this role will ensure supporters get a first-class experience. They will also be involved in the creation and management of key resources to support our fundraisers.

Who are we looking for?

ShelterBox is seeking a passionate and dynamic person to join our team. The successful candidate will be a real team player, organised and comfortable supporting a number of projects at one time and be confident in building relationships.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Be the first port of call for any fundraiser and volunteer enquiries that come into the team. Maintaining relationships through prompt and proactive approach, ensuring a brilliant supporter experience
  • To support the team with the development and stock management of resources in support of fundraising activity (digital, paper-based and items such as t-shirts etc). Including liaison with suppliers and freelancers
  • Working with our community office volunteer and volunteer network to fulfil talk and event requests from our supporters
  • Update central team KPI document and volunteer impact templates with latest figures and communications on behalf of team
  • To capture, acknowledge and celebrate volunteer and fundraiser activity. Gathering show_content and supporter stories to be used in communication and engagement plans, sharing with key teams
  • To work closely with and brief Supporter Care Team on key community fundraising moments, ensuring donations and communications are processed as per guidance
  • Update and manage records on the ShelterBox database, accurately logging communications and activity. Working closely with IT and CRM team to implement any new processes.
  • Carry out research as required by the Community Team in support of the creation of new or development of existing fundraising products and asks

General duties:

  • Contribute new ideas and continually seek to improve processes to drive efficiency and increase income.
  • Participate in the day to day work of the organisation – such as reporting, attending team meetings as required, and taking a flexible approach
  • Representing ShelterBox at supporter/public events, delivering presentations where necessary.
  • Keep volunteer and community fundraising sector knowledge current and share learnings with the team.
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary to support the Community Fundraising Team
