Role Introduction
This is a new entry-level role within our Marketing and PR & Social Media Team offered on an initial 18-month contract (subject to review).
Working with the regional commercial team and under supervision of the regional PR & Social Media Manager, the successful candidate will work to facilitate and co-ordinate a robust community engagement strategy. The objective is to build stronger community relations and partnerships growing Cathay Pacific lifetime relationship programme and converting into commercial opportunities for both travel and lifestyle areas of the airline.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement
- Identify, map and define various stakeholders to build a community engagement plan specifically around communication and access to these groups
- Proactively advise regional leaders and other team leaders on community engagement strategy
- Cultivate strong and meaningful relationships with these diverse communities to build commercial propositions relevant for the specific audience
- Run all community engagement activities including regular community meetings to identify and improve working relations
- Execute the communication and social media plan with a focus on community relations
- Serve as an advocate for the community across all regional teams
- Work with relevant Head Office departments and regional teams to exploit the ‘Cathay’ propositions across the United Kingdom (and Europe) by planning, organising, implementing, facilitating and communicating partnerships and other opportunities to the targeted communities.
- Create reports on engagement activities, including insights that illustrate the business impact of the community engagement programme
- Review social listening data from community forums to inform regional priorities
General
- Act as an ambassador for other ESG (Environmental Social Governance) initiatives including the sustainability agenda
- Operation Support – provide operational support as and when required
- Any other reasonable task as requested
E&A
- Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements
Academic qualifications
- Diploma, certificate or proven experience ideally in a relevant Marketing or PR/Social field is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Training And Experience
- Fluent written and spoken Cantonese and Mandarin (fluency in traditional and simplified set of Chinese characters and modern written Cantonese is absolutely necessary).
- Ability to speak Hokkien and / or Wenzhouese is an advantage.
- Strong copywriting skills
- Experience in, or knowledge of, the PR & Social Media industry is an advantage
- Proven social media skills including video editing & Photoshop etc is an advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent PC literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Adaptive to and embraces constant change
