Community Education Coordinator

Location: Edinburgh based with travel to schools and education venues in the local community

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £20,950 – £22,878 per annum (pro rata)

Driving: You must have a full valid UK Driving Licence with access to your own vehicle

We have an exciting new role for a Community Education Coordinator to join our team. In this role no two days will be the same, you will have the freedom to explore potential partnerships and travel to a variety of venues to deliver workshops.

The workshops we deliver range from teaching first aid and empathy to young people, to supporting adults with tackling loneliness. You’ll be making a tangible difference to the people you support and will be able to shape our service.

Additionally, you will manage external partnerships and relationships as well as supporting the implementation of externally funded projects. You will also support with the recruitment and development of volunteers across Edinburgh and the Lothians, as well as Dundee to increase the British Red Cross geographical footprint and capacity within communities. You’ll ensure that we are delivering the best service possible.

This role might be for you if …

You’ve got a recognised education, training or facilitation qualification (or equivalent by experience) and excellent coaching and motivational skills

You’ve got people management experience. Experience recruiting, selecting, managing, and supporting volunteers would be great!

You’ve got experience of facilitated learning and adapting nationally approved learning content to meet user needs.

You have excellent communication skills and can build and maintain relationships with external partners.
