Our team at CVS Falkirk & District is now recruiting a Community Development Officer for the Denny and District area.
The Role
The position is 21 hours per week, with a salary of £27,000 per annum, pro rata (plus 6% pension contribution) and an 18 month contract, based in Falkirk (with flexibility to work remotely for part of the week), reporting to the Team Leader.
Funded by Foundation Scotland, CVS Falkirk has created a new role and a unique opportunity to work within the communities of Denny, Dunipace, Dennyloanhead and Head of Muir, to build capacity, encourage and increase community engagement, volunteering and participation by local people for local people.
Through a place-based approach, the Community Development Officer will support and be a catalyst to increasing community activity in Denny, Dunipace, Dennyloanhead and Head of Muir, building on residents’ skills and knowledge, and stimulating community capacity and increasing volunteerism amongst new and existing community groups.
The successful candidate will also provide community engagement and development opportunities to support new and existing groups to collaborate and take their ideas forward, bringing to fruition key community projects, and contributing to the local Community Action Plan.

CVS Falkirk & District is recognised by Scottish Government and Falkirk Community Planning Partnership as the third sector interface for the Falkirk area. We have a primary role in ensuring the continuation and development of a vibrant third sector (charities, social enterprises, community and voluntary groups) in Falkirk District.
