MassChallenge

Job title: Community Associate

Location/Program: Boston, MA; Hybrid role with Tuesdays & Thursdays in the office plus additional to attend and support events

Manager name & job title: Chris Bauer, Community Director

Salary: $55,000 – $60,000

MassChallenge Inc. is a global startup accelerator with existing programs in Boston, Dallas, Lausanne, Jerusalem, and Mexico City. We are the most startup-friendly accelerator on the planet. No equity and not-for-profit, we provide startups with the access and resources they need to succeed – from free office space to mentoring, workshops and global network access. If you want a challenging and rewarding career in the center of the startup ecosystem, this opportunity is for you!

MassChallenge is looking for a Community Associate in Boston to oversee aspects of our community/ecosystem partner and expert experience, both key stakeholder groups at MassChallenge. Community/ecosystem partners are non-financial partners who play a key role in startup sourcing, expert recruitment, marketing, and ecosystem collaboration. The expert community is our network of successful entrepreneurs, seasoned industry leaders, and other professionals who seek to help startups succeed.

As Community Associate, you will represent MassChallenge and be a liaison between the organization, the local ecosystem, and respective communities in the region. You will be a connector and facilitator who helps the MassChallenge programs activate its expert community and connect into our network in support of our startups. You will report to the Community Director and will work closely with members of the program, corporate development, and marketing teams among others to deliver an exceptional community experience and ultimately a successful acceleration experience for startups from around the world.

While no two days are the same at MassChallenge, your main responsibilities will be managing community/ecosystem partner and expert relationships, supporting onsite innovator engagement through the Boston Residency Program, executing strategic community events to convene key stakeholders in the local ecosystem, and identifying ways in which to measure and refine the expert program through operational improvements. Please note, this role will at times require you to support or host activities outside of traditional 9am-5pm work hours–you may work with your manager to plan a flexible weekly schedule accordingly in these instances.

A note on location: This position will be based out of the MassChallenge Boston office. The office currently operates in a hybrid staff capacity with Tuesdays and Thursdays being in-office days. Frequent onsite presence in the office is critical for success in this role.
