Communications Officer – SERG

ROLE PURPOSE

The Communications Officer will provide complex support in the areas of communications and advocacy, and provide assistance to the SERG Project MEAL team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential knowledge or experience

• Knowledge and experience in documentation and communications research
• Knowledge on various communication strategies, media, tools and techniques for different types of audiences
• Functional knowledge on quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques, processing and analysis
• Knowledge on child rights programming and human rights-based approaches
• Experience in working in development projects preferred
• Experience in working with DepEd a plus

Skills / Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in the use of graphic design softwares (preferably adobe illustrator, Indesign, photoshop) and use of social networking tools
• Excellent in developing Infographics as a means to communicate and present information
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to produce well-written reports
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Able to work independently with little supervision
• Highly developed networking, relationship building, influencing, negotiating and interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think strategically and see and act upon opportunities
• High levels of behavioral flexibility in dealing with and translating strategic, transactional and operational information
• Displays resilience in working in a changing and demanding environment
• Able to operate within a complex environment and to deal effectively with ambiguity

Required qualifications and/or accreditations

University degree in development communication, international development, education, statistics, or related field, or equivalent training/experience. Media network/links an advantage. Master’s degree a is a plus.
