Communications Officer

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

UCLH is looking for a communications officer who will support the delivery of our internal communications strategy.

You will be responsible for sourcing and producing engaging content for our internal communications channels. Excellent writing skills and the ability to convey complex messages to different audiences are a must.

You may also have the opportunity to support the wider communications department on key projects and develop content for social media and media.

This is an exciting role for a dynamic and creative individual looking to work in a fast-paced, cutting-edge organisation.

Applicants must have communications experience and/or a background in journalism.

You will be responsible for writing, editing and publishing high quality and engaging content for UCLH’s communications channels including the intranet, daily email to all staff, CEO’s monthly Team Brief, UCLH Magazine etc.

You will also support the organisation of communications events such as the CEO’s fortnightly virtual briefings.

You may also need to contribute content to the website and social media channels.

Excellent writing and editing skills are essential, as are strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

This vacancy would suit someone who has either (i) been a journalist and would like to move into communications or (ii) has some experience of working in communications and is looking to progress to the next level in a high profile NHS organisation.

The main focus of the role will be internal communications but we aim to offer some development opportunities in media relations such as issuing press releases to the local media.

Annual leave starts at 27 days a year, rising to 33 days (plus bank holidays).

We have a hybrid working model in communications. At present, we are working between one and two days in the office and the remainder remotely.
