Responsibilities

The Communication and Outreach Manager will report directly to the Planning and Development Director and will be responsible for increasing iMMAP’s internal communications and external communications, visibility and raise awareness of the organization’s mission and accomplishments. The Communications and Outreach Manager is reponsible for developing and maintaining iMMAP’s communications activity from iMMAP’s Country Offices and field projects.

Description of Duties

The Communications and Outreach Manager assumes the primary responsibility for planning, developing and implementing communication strategies to promote iMMAPs’ programmes.

  • Management:
  • Manage G&A Communications budget.
  • Manage all G&A Communications personnel.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate organization-wide communications workshops when required.
  • Technical production and Coordination:
  • Develop and implement iMMAP Global Communications plan and strategy (internal and external).
  • Coordinating and supporting country communication teams to ensure the delivery of coordinated, impactful messages and news packages to key audiences taking into account global and operational strategies and policies.
  • Internal Communications:
  • Drafting policy on communications.
  • Safeguard iMMAP branding style and supervise its implementation in all country offices.
  • Lead the communications Task Force and ensure its correct implementation.
  • Leading the communications group.
  • External communications:
  • Maintain iMMAP’s external communications platforms updated: website, social-media, one-pagers with information on projects and capabilities.
  • Re-packaging, writing, editing, re-writing and commissioning of information/stories incluiding those submitted by field communication staff and others for dissemination to global audiences.
  • Lead the development of yearly iMMAP annual report.
  • Act as global focal point for the media.
  • Develop and lead the iMMAP global newsletter

Requirements

  • Education
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Web Design, Interactive Media, and/or a related field.
  • Experience
  • At least 8 years of experience and a background in nonprofit, internationally-focused.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in communication, public relations, advertising, communication analysis & planning, social development communication, marketing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that enable him or her to effectively communicate accross a variety of platforms and continents.
  • Understanding of complex internal organizational structures and the ability to maximize engagement of a variety of stakeholders.
  • The ability to work with designers, show_content contributors, and others to be a brand steward and protect its cohesiveness.
  • The ability and willingness to travel to field offices to conduct training and be present as a resource to staff.
  • Languages
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Arabic and Spanish as an asset

This position is based in Marseille, France.
