Job Title: Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist

Department/Location: Social, Environmental, and Agricultural Development (SEAD)

Reports To: Learning and Capacity Building Lead

Type: Regular Full-Time

Classification: Exempt

Overview: IBTCI is seeking a Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist for an upcoming USAID/Bangladesh Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Activity. This is a five year activity and will be a central Mission-wide platform that provides a wide range of analytical and advisory services in support of the Mission’s design, performance monitoring, evaluation, and operational learning and adapting. The activity will play a significant role in achieving the successful implementation of the Mission’s 1) integrated 2020 to 2025 Country Development Cooperation Strategy, 2) Performance Management Plan, and 3) the Collaboration, Learning, and Adapting Agenda. This position is contingent upon being awarded the contract.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Learning and Capacity Building Advisor in developing and implementing BMEL communication and outreach strategy.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication and outreach strategy.
  • Design, develop, curate, maintain, and share communications products, platforms, and materials that promote awareness and information about BMEL.
  • Support technical staff in regularly identifying best practices and knowledge to be shared with the community of practice.
  • Lead the compilation and editing of regular and ad hoc communication materials.
  • Create and maintain knowledge management systems that enable the Mission and IPs to access and share templates, processes/procedures, resources, and best practices developed by USAID and produced by BMEL and partners.
  • Ensure branding, marking, and accessibility consistency and compliance across events, messages, and products.
  • Facilitate community of practice events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional-level experience in one or more of the following areas: digital and print media, social media and collaboration platforms, public relations, marketing, graphic design, and/or stakeholder engagement. Event planning experience is preferrable.
  • Superior writing and synthesis skills in English and Bengali.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert technically complex concepts into plain language and able to communicate to a variety of audiences with a high degree of cultural sensitivity
  • Proven experience designing and implementing 508 compliant activities.
  • Knowledge of USAID branding and marking and other communications-related policies and procedures preferred.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in international development, organizational development, strategic communications, journalism, or a related field

Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: Travel throughout Bangladesh may be required.
