About the role

As Communication Officer you are responsible for supporting our programme department in a great variety of different communication areas and you will be based in Belgrade.
Your main responsibilities include to develop, implement and evaluate a communication plan for the Europe and MENA programme in order to grow and broaden the organisation’s support base in the region. You will also be responsible to supporting the development of an integrated and consistent culture of communication within the organisation for increased efficiency.
As Communication Officer you report to the Department Director Europe and MENA.

The role offers great variety, including work tasks such as:

• Contributing to a continuous flow of content to website/social media channels and website management;
• Developing key messages, talking points and support colleagues with media trainings;
• Represent the organisation in various external events;
• Supporting the development of complementary visual materials such as infographics and video clips as well as the dissemination to relevant stakeholders;
• Build and maintain partnership relations for expanding visibility;
• Evaluate and oversee all marketing related agencies such as PR, Advertising, Media agencies etc.

About you

As a person you like to be part of a team and are interested in understanding others. You have excellent communication skills, for example by expressing your opinions, information and key issues clearly. You also like to apply your expertise and knowledge to achieve the best possible results.

Furthermore, you are analytical and like to solve complicated problems as well as you contribute to the team and organisation with a creative and innovative mind-set.
It is also very important that you have well-founded and clear values that guide you in critical situations at work and comply with legal obligations and safety requirements.

To be suitable for this role you have:

  • At least one year of relevant work experience;
  • Documented experience related to human rights as well of NGO-work within communication and media and with social media;
  • Experience related to communication and human rights is a merit;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (level C2) as well as in at least one language from the Western Balkans (level C2);
  • Basic skills to use Microsoft tools, especially Word, Excel, and Teams effectively;

If you have a Bachelor’s degree preferably in the field of Journalism, Media, Communication or Political Science, we believe you are the one we are looking for.

About the employment

This is a full-time permanent employment with initial 6 months probationary employment, starting as soon as possible. As an organisation, we strive for diversity and we see your background, experience and personality as a contribution to the organisation. You will be based in Belgrade, Serbia.
