TITLE: AMC Officer

TEAM/PROGRAMME: AMC

LOCATION: Amman

GRADE: 5

CONTRACT LENGTH: 1 year

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: (select only one)

Level 2: either the post holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or the post holder will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal executive); therefore a police check will be required (at ‘standard’ level in the UK or equivalent in other countries).

ROLE PURPOSE:

The specific objectives of hiring an AMC Officer is to have a person who can identify needed information and procure it and can produce regular weekly and biweekly reports, newsletters and situation reports in order to make them accessible for the organization.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Communications Manager

Staff reporting to this post: N/A

Role Dimensions: Information provision, data gathering and analysis, communication with area offices and programmes

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :

Internal communications and information-sharing

  • Seek inputs for the monthly newsletter;
  • Coordinate inputs for regular Sitreps as needed
  • Produce other accurate, clear and consistent information and communication outputs relating to emergency responses as needed
  • Ensure that the relevant documents are made available on internal communications systems (OneNet,
    dropbox, and news bulletins)

Communications

  • Support staff in the SRO and in partner organisations to develop and share high quality case studies, including written testimonies, photographs and audio footage
  • Translate case studies and other information from Arabic to English
  • Develop and deliver a clear and effective system for internal communications.
  • Design, layout and proof all external documents in line with Save the Children’s brand
  • Support the AMC team to provide training to partners as needed, including with logistics and partner coordination

Team Support and Coordination

  • Lead the AMC team’s MEAL activities and internal reporting
  • Monitor and report on budgets, coordinate payments and liaise with relevant other departments
  • Provide support to the media and communications team on key moments as required

Media

  • Identify media worthy stories and support the team to gather content to publish

Advocacy

  • Track contextual developments in the region, share updates within the AMC team and support colleagues to follow-up as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in managing and maintaining databases, and updating information catalogues, newsletters, reports and sitreps, to make sure that the information they manage is safe, secure and easily accessible.
  • Experience in identifying and procuring information
  • Ability to manage the security, accessibility and quality of consistent information
  • Ability to identify and interpret relevant data and statistics
  • Ability to present findings in attractive communications style
  • Experience working with partner organisations to access information and provide constructive feedback
  • Excellent command in Arabic and English
