Community Partners International (CPI) is a U.S. nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities in Asia to meet their essential health, humanitarian and development needs. Founded by U.S. doctors in 1998, the organization has grown to serve more than one million people each year. Community Partners International focuses on helping communities affected by conflict, violence, and displacement, in remote and hard-to-reach contexts, and marginalized by poverty and exclusion.

CPI is going to implement a five – years program entitled HIV/TB Agency, Information, and Services (AIS) consortium, funded by United State Agency for International Development (USAID), led by Community Partners International (CPI), brings a dynamic blend of partners and capabilities that reflect deep understanding of HIV and TB technical needs and gaps in Burma, trusting and effective relationships with community groups, ethnic health organizations (EHOs), private sector and the public health system. The HIV/TB AIS Activity strengthens Burma’s efforts to achieve accelerated HIV epidemic control and TB elimination through support for free and comprehensive prevention, testing and treatment services for key populations and TB risk groups.

CPI is looking for an experienced and qualified Communication Manager to help communicate the impact of the AIS Activity to key Myanmar and international audiences. This is an opportunity to help build the communications and enhance coordination among the various AIS partners within a fast-growing and dynamic international nonprofit organization with a strong presence in Myanmar.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver clear, concise and coordinated messages across internal and external audiences.
  • Working closely with CPI staff, AIS team and implementing partners to design and prepare engaging and compelling written and digital content to support the AIS Activity.
  • Develop and implement the AIS communication strategy.
  • Prepare high quality communication content without supervision for regular activities
    and events/campaigns and edit content created by the communication team.
  • Develop and supervise the AIS social media presence with a particular focus on
    Myanmar-based audiences.
  • Disseminates messaging and content across all communication platforms, including
    email, websites, and social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with program and technical teams to identify opportunities to promote the project visibility.
  • Coordinate with program and technical teams to conduct field visits and utilize
    intervention content to produce human-interest stories.
  • Produce accurate and timely weekly highlights and project related informational
    materials in coordination with program and technical staff.
  • Ensure proper branding and marking of communications and project materials in line
    with USAID marking and branding guidelines.
  • Promoting AIS project image or products according to donors’ requirements and
    prepare materials in line with USAID policies for external audiences.
  • Support the AIS Activity with communication tasks as needed.
  • Conduct communication workshops with partner organizations to inform updates, and coordinate events/activities.
  • Provide graphic design support together with the graphic designer to create media campaigns, brochures, posters and other materials when needed.
  • Coordinate with CPI headquarters to update project page on CPI platforms.
  • Assist program and technical teams in organizing effective events, external
    representatives’ field visits and ceremonies when necessary.
  • Lead online advocacy activities to strengthen partners’ capacity and increase online
    to offline linkage.
  • Supervise the AIS communication team and support implementing partners’
    communication teams.
  • Support the AIS Activity’s communications needs as required.

Essential Skills

  • A minimum of a university degree in communication, social science, journalism, public relations, or related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience working in communication with at least 3 years in an NGO.
  • Demonstrable record of content creation and management of social media is a plus. Experience working on HIV, Harm reduction and TB interventions desirable.
  • Excellent reading and writing skills in English is required.
  • Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear and positive manner with
    internal team and external clients.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent computer skills in specialized software including
    Windows and Microsoft Office suite and basic photo editing.
  • Basic knowledge of design software applications including the Adobe Creative
    Suite/Cloud, Powerpoint.
  • Experience in designing and implementing communication strategies for a health
    NGO.
  • Experience working with USAID funded project and familiarity with USAID branding
    and marking, clearance and approval process is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Myanmar context and flexibility to work during the Covid-19
    pandemic and military coup.
  • Team player, innovative and able to work autonomously and remotely.
  • Must have a high level of attention to details.
