Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work closely with CARE Jordan Advocacy and Communications department to identify success stories as well as highlight areas of concern and lead efforts to “tell our story in a compelling manner”.
  • Support in writing and editing communications materials.
  • Translate communications materials when necessary.
  • Maintain a library of success stories, videos and photos for Jordan office.
  • Regularly use the success stories to generate content for the social media accounts.
  • Act as the key focal point for the new CARE Jordan website, social media platforms for CARE Jordan offices; Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and generate content regularly in English and Arabic.
  • Support advocacy and communication campaigns during the period they are engaged with the office.
  • Dynamically and actively interact with program officers and field focal points to gather information and results related to programming, and prepare relevant communication materials such as stories, beneficiary profiles, country snapshots, content for the communication products.
  • Provide high-quality editing and formatting for program related documents intended for external audiences, including but not limited to assessment reports, communication materials, and donor reports.
  • Work closely with relevant departments to improve information management processes.
  • Support program staff in organizing and managing workshops or trainings as required
  • Ensure to maintain and update the communication database and filing system.
  • Any other related tasks to support the Communications unit.

Required Experience and Functional Competencies:

  • Bachelor in International Development, Middle East Studies, communications, journalism, social sciences or related field in alignment with the relief and development sectors;
  • Proficient in Office 365 suite (word, PowerPoint, excel)
  • Strong initiative-taker
  • Very effective at multi-tasking;
  • Work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude;
  • Ability to think and work logically and work precisely with attention to detail;
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Fluent in both English and Arabic.
  • Excellent writing skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Excellent translation skills.
  • Knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop is a plus.
  • Experience in communication, reporting, documentation, publication in relation to the INGO/humanitarian sector is desirable;
  • Ability to adapt to different cultures;
  • Curious and eager to learn.
