CODE OF CONDUCT

MedGlobal Code of Conduct reflects the profession’s core set of beliefs and values of care, respect, trust, and integrity. These beliefs and values are fundamental to MedGlobal employees, volunteers, interns, consultants, officers’ coordinators, and directors to guide their practice and conduct.

JOB SUMMARY

The Communications and Advocacy Officer will lead efforts to communicate MedGlobal’s programs, policy priorities, and humanitarian impact, with a special focus on Sudan. This role involves implementing a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy, including digital marketing, social media, multimedia production, media engagement, and partner outreach. The officer will also be responsible for advocacy activities, raising awareness on health and humanitarian issues in Sudan, and mobilizing support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take High level photos and videos regularly on country projects, ensuring visual content is compelling and aligns with the organization’s messaging and advocacy goals.
  • Develop and implement a biannual communications and advocacy strategy.
  • Produce a range of content (blog posts, briefings, fact sheets, presentations, reports) focusing on Sudan.
  • Manage communications assets and partner with external vendors for high-quality materials.
  • Support online fundraising campaigns and public-facing online events.
  • Monitor digital media trends and thematic public health issues relevant to Sudan.
  • Manage social media platforms and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Engage in outreach and media relations, including content collection from country teams.
  • Provide training and guidance on communications best practices. Analyze data to inform communications strategies.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

The Advocacy & Communications Officer should have the following skills, education, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, international relations, public health, or related fields.
  • 1-2 years of experience in communications, preferably in a nonprofit or advocacy setting.
  • Submit a portfolio of photos and videos
  • Experience with social media management and digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of design and digital marketing tools (Adobe, WordPress, Canva, MailChimp).
  • Video editing skills and proficiency in Arabic are highly desirable.
  • Understanding of humanitarian issues, especially related to health in Sudan.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
