Overview

The Communications Advisor will primarily work to increase MCGL’s visibility by developing well written information, knowledge and communication products using high quality photos, videos, infographics and etc.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the production of key information resources such as Fact Sheets, News Letters, IEC Materials and inputs reports to support advocacy and create visibility
  • Engage with MCGL implementation team including local implementing partners to identify and develop success stories in a high-quality manner
  • Design creative content, posts and campaigns along with a regular publishing schedule on approved platforms to enhance project visibility
  • Develop infographics using available data to present core messages and organize complex information into visual representations;
  • Lead on the development of new communications activities aimed at expanding MCGL’s digital reach and engagement with the communities served.
  • Support the production of quality presentations for MCGL activities for profile raising and building our reach.
  • Support the production of quality statutory reports, including monthly, quarterly and annual report, ensuring they have high impact,
  • Develops capacity building activities for staff to enhance their ability to communicate about project achievements/position Jhpiego and provide editorial services for documents and presentations, including formatting, style and accuracy of a text, grammar and punctuation and copy editing
  • Undertake duties as specified by the Project Director and other assigned authorities.

Required Qualification

  • Minimum of 8 years’ working experience in knowledge management and communications; i)public health; and ii) Infographics iii) USAID development projects;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in GBV, Women, and children’s rights or human rights projects – creating advocacy contents (evidence would be produced before test).
  • Experience in communications, including developing and/or implementing a wideranging communications product.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, particularly conveying legal or technical information for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to produce inspiring and engaging content.
  • Experience of design software, such as InDesign and/or Adobe Illustrator, as well as printing and production processes would be an advantage.
  • High level of IT competency, including with WordPress, infographics and database or CRM systems.
  • Experience of SharePoint and/or Salesforce would be an advantage.
  • Fluency in English (both oral and written).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders across cultures.
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined, with the ability to work with autonomy, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience with USAID funded projects will be an added advantage.

SALARY: 40,000 PER DAY
