Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Project Management of P2V ideas/tasks for the entire BoP Sourcing organization, managing it from creation phase until its implementation
- Work with sourcing, suppliers and engineering community to brainstorm and identify new cost reductions projects in order to achieve the business target
- Management of systems and reporting, ensuring that all projects ideas/tasks are captured and updated in the system, as well as status reporting across the organization are done
- Close work together with Commodity Leaders ensuring the tasks are being performed on time and facilitate supplier discussions where needed
- Partner with P2V team and be the owner/voice of Sourcing related to all P2V tasks
- You will work closely with Global commodity leader to help develop sourcing strategy for the assigned site/P&L to achieve variable cost productivity, cash flow, and controllership goals
- Support the global supplier selection, qualification, development, and overall supplier management, including managing the entire contract life cycle from Request for Proposal to supplier exit
- Minimize GE risk exposure, by working closely with Projects and Contracts (Commercial, Legal, Commodity Sourcing, Engineering) teams to ensure customer flow downs are pass-through to suppliers.
- Balance strategy development with the tactical execution necessary to execute cost reduction projects through contract negotiation, process changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls, including collaboration with Finance to validate the impact of projects and contract negotiations to the general ledger
- Develop technical and market expertise in global commodity area
- Create and enforce business policies to meet business targets and customer needs, including improving procurement processes and optimizing Sourcing resources to enhance the customer experience with Sourcing
- Team with engineering teams to identify and implement direct material productivity ideas to minimize total cost
- Work closely with engineering, buyers, and sourcing quality engineers to ensure fulfilment and quality requirements are achieved
- Team with logistics and commercial teams to ensure adequate regional capacities exist to minimize transportation costs and meet localization requirements
- Aligning closely with global commodity leaders to identify and assess supplier capabilities, and measure and manage supplier performance
- Negotiate lowest possible cost while maintaining the highest quality of goods and services
- Interface with other GE business sourcing teams and participate in companywide strategic sourcing initiatives
- Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience in Sourcing, Project Management, Supply Chain and/or Engineering
- Experience with Balance of plant components
- Desired Characteristics
- Strong project management and process improvement skills Change agent with ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Cost reductions and/or P2V experience
- Strong quantitative and data analysis skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Able to work with different systems and tools to manage tasks
- Able to work under pressure
- Process leadership experience such as CAP, Workout, process improvement, or quality
- Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training
