Commissioning Officer

The Midlands Specialised Commissioning Team is seeking to appoint a Commissioning Officer to join a friendly and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain first-hand experience and understanding of specialised service commissioning within the NHS, at patient level, system level and nationally.

The successful post holder will work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team ensuring that services are of the highest quality, meet agreed service specifications, and national and regional policy directives. The post holder will lead a number of contracts and service transformation projects across a range of commissioned services in line with national and locally agreed priorities, as well as being responsible for ensuring that national service specifications, models of care and quality standards are delivered within designated service areas.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisation and communication skills and be able to demonstrate both awareness and a good understanding of current health and care policy, specialised services and NHS contracting. Strong analytical and project management skills are also essential for this role.

NHSEI staff are currently working from home and it is likely that in the future staff will work a mix of home and office based. The office base for this post will be in either Birmingham or Leicester.
