A Commis 1 for the Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre is responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest experience.
What will I be doing?
As a Commis 1 for the Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre you will be assisting in the daily pastry operations, including the preparation of mis-en-place and production. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
��� Knowledge of the individual pastry menu items including basic ingredients, methods of preparation, and presentation style.
��� Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.
��� Gain basic knowledge of all outlets in hotel.
��� Responsible for mise en place.
��� Taste and examine food prepared for freshness and required quality.
��� Set up section as required by Chef De Partie and Pastry Chef.
��� Be responsible for minimising food wastage.
��� Attend and comprehend all information discussed at the briefing sessions.
��� Be… pro-actively involved in the hotel���s operation keeping up-to-date with events within the hotel.

��� Previous experience as a Commis Chef within the pasty kitchen.
��� Positive attitude.
��� Good communication skills.
��� Ability to work under pressure.
��� Proven ability to work with a team and to follow instruction.
��� A passion to learn and a drive to succeed in a culinary/hospitality career.
��� Proof of completion in a basic food hygiene course.
��� A passion for food and the culinary arts.
��� Completion of an accredited commercial cookery course or trade apprenticeship within the Pastry section.
��� Experience multi-tasking and working in an environment with rigorous standards.
��� Educational background in Culinary Arts
��� Previous work experience within the hotel industry
��� NVQ Level 2
