Role Description And Key Responsibilities

The Commercial Strategy Intern is responsible for driving the execution on selected live and target UK accounts;

  • Responsible for the qualification and progression of prospect accounts:
  • Research on potential new targets across multiple industries
  • Initial financial assessment of opportunity & developing business cases
  • Planning of initial client engagement and creation of material to support initial interactions
  • Persuasive articulation of value proposition and education of the client on key commercial topics
  • Supporting commercial negotiation process including pricing and contracting
  • Overseeing in-life account management: Proactively seeking performance improvement opportunities, working cross-functionally in conjunction with the Account Lead, Operational Lead, AI and Data teams
  • Driving performance and growth on existing accounts
  • Owning client relationships with Commercial, Finance and Marketing client executives, identifying key stakeholders and helping navigate client organisations
  • Performing ongoing commercial performance analysis and forecasting for clients

The role also entails responsibilities supporting internal Afiniti teams with global initiatives, such as:

  • Management and maintenance of internal P&L forecasts and ownership of the accuracy of these forecasts
  • Ensuring all internal CRM data for selected accounts is updated, accurate and useful for Management team
  • Co-ordination of internal account & business reviews
  • Ad-hoc special commercial projects

  • Highly resourceful and adaptable, learns fast and can think outside the box
  • Strong team-player, empathetic, can read people well and build relationships
  • Strong communication skills, ability to understand and articulate complex data and able to adjust communication style to both senior and more detailed audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to progress on various projects and manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, comfortable building and managing financial models in Excel
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and curiosity about corporate and financial strategy

Helpful

  • Finance, Telco, consulting or technology sales/strategy background
  • Curiosity for AI technology, previous data experience
  • Foreign languages and exposure to multi-cultural environments

Position

  • 6 months, starting February 2023
  • Location: London, preferably, with option for hybrid working
  • Compensation package: Competitive
