CARE

Responsibilities:

1. Coordination

  • Convene meetings with colleagues across the CARE confederation, support CARE’s engagement with external stakeholders and partners. Generate agendas, track decisions, lead development of an agreed model.
  • Ensure alignment between the many internal stakeholder teams, including meeting participation and ensuring regular communication and consultation.
  • Coordinate within CARE and get sign off for key decisions; when there is no consensus, effectively capture the considerations and present options.

2. Project Management

  • Develop and manage the CARE project plan for establishing the next generation model for the cocoa sector, including identifying key activities, responsibilities, timelines, and risks.
  • Synthesize the products of discussions and workshops into drafts, ensuring the completion of the documentation laid out in the “Innovation to Impact at Scale” process, and application of the principles of local leadership and user-centered design.
  • Maintain Teams channels, contact lists, and file structures.

3. Internal and External Communications

  • Provide timely and regular updates to internal stakeholders on the status of the initiative, understanding the organizational change implications and thus the need for regular engagement, communication, and transparency .
  • Support development of communication products, including website content and pitch materials for funders, stakeholders, and partners, targeting them to each audience.

4. Research

  • Organize and synthesize the lessons and evidence base from CARE’s programs and the wider sector, presenting them in formats that create a digestible foundation of knowledge.
  • Complete a landscaping of current and potential partners, globally and in the target countries, including social businesses, Women’s Rights and Leadership Organizations, and civil society.
  • Identify other pertinent evidence and models from outside of CARE.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional project management and facilitation skills.
  • Track record of project management and problem solving, ideally within a complex global organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management, including engaging diverse stakeholders towards a common goal.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with senior-level management.
  • Experience working across global and regional teams, and ability to work remotely across diverse networks.
  • Experience representing an organization, including interacting with and attracting support from representatives of the business community and institutional donors.
  • Skills in numeracy, budget management, and basic statistical analysis.
  • Good command of English.
  • Strong understanding of the global cocoa sector, including challenges faced by women.
  • Understanding of gender equality and representation.
