Be part of the leading edge of cancer treatment — Join our Clinical Trials Unit! The Clinical Trials Budget Coordinator is a vital part of our Trial Launch Team. They will serve as the primary liaison between our Site and Principal Investigators, and the related AHS Departments (AHS Legal, NACTRC-Northern Alberta Clinical Trials and Research Centre), Pharmaceutical Sponsors, Clinical Research Organizations or granting agencies for matters related to clinical trials budget creation and finalization. This involves analyzing protocols, assessing resource needs, and performing timely and accurate budget creation, review, negotiation and submission to pharmaceutical sponsor or funding agencies. Other responsibilities include developing and maintaining budget tracking and costing tools and templates, and communicating with unit study teams and management about budget status. They will work closely with our on-site finance team and may assist with patient visit templates, study invoiceables and final study close out and billing queries related to the budgets.

Description:

Trial Budget Completion, Negotiation and Finalization Analyze clinical trial protocols, assess resource needs, and perform timely and accurate review, draft and submission of budgets/grants to pharmaceutical sponsor or funding agencies. Develop and maintain suitable budget negotiation and tracking tools, assist in developing template budgets and agreements for use with pharmaceutical sponsors. Maintain and update local site budget template and costs, including staffing and procedure expenses. (e.g. lab, radiology, pharmacy, provincial start-up costs). Review protocol amendments for any revisions that affect the budget. Tracking and Reporting Develop and implement tracking mechanisms for ongoing project and budget management. Assist with completion and submission of site feasibility questionnaires. Communication and Interaction Interact with AHS legal, NACTRC, Federal agencies and Industry Sponsor personnel in the development and negotiation of budgets as they relate to Clinical Trial Agreements, grants, service agreements and Confidentiality Agreements. Work with Grant Administrators to facilitate patient visit template and invoiceable items. Work with Grant Administrators on final study account close out/billing.

Required Qualifications:

University Degree related to Healthcare or Research.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Advanced communications skills and Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to organize multiple priorities and tasks/project and work independently in a fast paced setting, meet tight timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with clinical trials procedures, finance, and budget negotiation. Knowledge of medical tests and procedures. Experience working with a pharmaceutical sponsor, clinical research organization or in an academic oncology medical center.
