The consultant/clinical supervisor will provide clinical supervision, coaching, and psycho-social support to four staff members in the Global SHEA & Safeguarding Team and four staff members in the Internal Audit Unit and one staff member in the Legal, and Data Protection team (a total of 9 colleagues).

Deliverables:

  • Confidential technical clinical supervision sessions with approximately nine staff in ActionAid in the Global SHEA & Safeguarding team, International Audit team, and the Legal and Data Protection team, respectively. Sessions are expected to be individual sessions and where requested, teams can request group sessions, if suitable.
  • For the first two months, sessions can occur on a fortnightly basis to facilitate rapport- building. Thereafter sessions are to occur once a month. Regular or weekly sessions may be required if a colleague is experiencing trauma, stress or a crisis which requires additional clinical supervision.
  • Sessions are to be held online using Zoom, Teams, Signal, or WhatsApp.
  • Sessions can also be held in person, depending on location.
  • The clinical supervisor is to expect that staff in the Global SHEA & Safeguarding team will wish to discuss cases related to sexual harassment, abuse, and exploitation (including child abuse, staff abuse and adult at-risk abuse). The clinical supervisor is to expect that staff of the International Audit team will wish to discuss cases related to whistleblowing, fraud, corruption, and others. The clinical supervisor is to expect that the Legal and Data Protection team will wish to discuss cases related to data protection and where ActionAid is serving as legal counsel. All cases discussed with the clinical supervisor are confidential and breaches of confidentiality can result in the termination of the agreement.
  • Clinical supervision can include debriefing, reflection, coaching, counselling on personal, family, or work-related stress and/or trauma.

Required Expertise and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of A Master’s Degree in either clinical, general community or counselling psychology or social work.
  • Appropriate counselling or psychology licensing with the Health Care Council or Psychology Society.
  • Experience using cognitive behavioral therapy techniques for adults.
  • Experience in crises counselling.
  • Experience in career coaching, stress counselling, stress management, trauma counselling, mental health and psycho-social support, goal-oriented techniques focusing on behaviours, thoughts, and feelings.
  • Knowledge of international mental health and psycho-social frameworks.
  • Experience in clinical supervision for case workers including systemic therapy.
  • Experience in working with NGO/INGO clients.
  • Experience supporting clients working in SHEA & Safeguarding and whistleblowing sectors is an added advantage.
