Inspire North

At Aspire, we are keen to implement some exciting and innovative approaches to therapeutic and trauma-informed care across the service, such as Open Dialogue and third wave therapies, in addition to providing NICE-concordant CBTp and Family Interventions.

While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.

We are looking for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist to integrate with the whole service and work with individuals, families/social networks and communities for therapeutic benefit. The role will involve supervision, consultation and training to the MDT, in addition to contributions to service development, evaluation and research.

We will consider people who are close to completing current training courses, and the position would be an excellent opportunity to develop an area of special interest. We are looking for applicants with a strong desire to work with people who express unshared and apparently unusual distressing experiences (the ‘psychosis’ field), preferably with experience of working with secondary care mental health.

The service has a proud tradition of supporting creativity, and you would be joining a thriving psychological therapies team including clinical psychology, CBT, systemic therapy and dramatherapy.

Aspire is a city-wide service that works with people aged 14 – 65 who are regarded as experiencing a first episode of ‘psychosis’, or as having an At Risk Mental State (ARMS). We work holistically with the person and their family/social network to promote recovery, positive mental wellbeing and social inclusion. Inspire North is an ambitious, forward-thinking organisation which aims to provide high quality services, adhering to principles of best practice, promoting equal opportunities and working positively with diversity.

The successful candidate should hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purpose, unless eligible for the Disability Confidence Scheme.
