Rainbows are recruiting a Hospice Palliative Care Specialist Nurse based in University Hospitals Leicester. The role is 37.5 hours per week predominantly Monday – Friday, with additional on call responsibilities which cover nights and weekends. The role has additional on-call responsibilities which cover 7 days a week including nights.

About The Role

Join our incredible team of Rainbows Nurses as we expand our exciting range of services which aim to meet the needs of more families across the East Midlands than ever before.

This nursing role is part of our new service model which will provide specialist palliative care to more families, wherever they choose their baby’s care to be delivered. In a hospice, in our local hospitals or at home.

The demand for this specialist care is increasing and is more important than ever so we are seeking to appoint nurses to work in the hospitals within our region.

Role Responsibilities

You will help to provide education, information, support, advice and specialist knowledge to the families of babies who have life shortening conditions.

You will act as a resource to the multi-professional teams to influence palliative care, symptom management and end of life care development across the Nottinghamshire hospitals.

Role Requirements

If you are a Registered- Nurse we would like to hear from you. You will have experience in neonatal and palliative care nursing. We would like a Palliative Care qualification or a willingness to work towards one. Proven leadership skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate high standards of clinical care are essential, as well as evidence of continuing professional development within the last 12 months.
