The Organisation

The Front Project is a social enterprise that has been designed to improve the access and quality of early education for all children especially those experiencing vulnerability. Crucially, The Front Project recognise the impact early childhood teachers and educators have on the children they teach.

The Front Project works using a systems change methodology, both as an intermediatory and an actor in the system. In their role as an actor, the Upskill Program and the Online Community are with the early learning workforce to build the quality of their professional practice and upskill their qualifications.

The Upskill Program addresses the barriers to Diploma trained educators face when they try to upskill their qualifications at university and provides students with the support needed to become an Early Childhood Teacher. The personalised approach ensures every student is best supported to balance the pressures of study, work and their personal lives.

The Front Project’s Online Community is an online home for ECEC workforce voices. By joining the Online Community, professionals will establish important peer-to-peer networks, engage with a dynamic community of like-minded teachers and educators, and improve practice knowledge and skills.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Programs, this senior position is responsible for increasing the number of partner organisations and participants enrolled and engaged with the the Front Project’s suite of programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to scale delivery of the Upskill program and the Online Community, meeting sector needs
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and prospective clients including early education care providers, universities and students
  • Contribute to operations and program planning in collaboration with the Program Director
  • Develop opportunities to extend the business model in collaboration with the Program Director and CEO.

Skills Required

You are a seasoned client centred business development professional, a strategic thinker with an ability to work collaboratively. Your creativity and commercial acumen will support your ability to develop and retain partnerships and your passion for education equity motivates you towards success. You are a team orientated person with the capacity to work independently with a focus on quality outcomes and impact.

A foundation knowledge of early childhood education would be advantageous but not essential combined with an adaptable style that enables you to feel comfortable working in a fast paced, relational, high impact environment. You can demonstrate an ability to:

  • Develop meaningful continuing relationships with new and prospective clients
  • Work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated within a long sales cycle
  • Identify, research and recommend new clients in accordance with strategic plans.
