Operations

Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.

The position within the NY Client Asset Protection Control team involves daily calculation and processing of Morgan Stanley daily CFTC mandated Segregation Statements and end of day Residual Interest calculation surveillance and funding processing for our client futures and cleared swaps business.

The Candidate Will Be Responsible For

  • Perform various daily Segregation computation to ensure sufficient customer assets are segregated to meet total segregated requirements are within Residual Interest targets including 1.49 compliance.
  • Analyzes the reason for the change in Residual Interest on a daily basis.
  • Determines that external customer assets held at segregated locations are reconciled back to books and records on a daily basis.
  • Additional task will include various Monthly seg related regulatory filings
  • Project work related to testing of new system requirements and enhancements
  • Assisting with audit requests
  • Ensure adherence to global escalation policies, maintain up to date awareness of risk policies and procedures, attest to operational procedures at required intervals and actively comply with ethics and behavior standards.

Role is Hybrid and will require in office attendance 3 days/week.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $51,000 and $85,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
