Company: Britannia Community Services Centre has openings for Auxiliary Children’s Activity Leader.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Child Care Supervisor, Auxiliary Children’s Activity Leader will plan and implement programming development appropriate for children ages between 3 and 12; support the diverse needs of children, in an inclusive Preschool and/or Out of School Care program in a multicultural community; and work with a team of childcare workers ensuring safety and licensing requirements as directed by the Senior Supervisor and Management.
Qualifications
Preschool Program
Experience in Daycare and Preschool with Early Childcare Education 5 Year License to Practice and/or, Special Needs License to Practice, or the ECE Assistant License to Practice
Out of School Care
Certification in School Age Childcare Certificate; or similar children’s recreation program; or Early Childhood Education; or Child and Youth Care; or Responsibility Adult certification with minimum of 20 hours of training in “Child Growth and Development”, “Health & Safety” and/or “Guiding and Caring”
Understanding of the special needs and behaviour of children requiring extra support in an inclusive program is important
Experience and/or education in outdoor education and/or fine arts would be an asset
Preschool and Out of School Care
Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid Certificate
Physician’s Waiver
A Police Record Check is a requirement of this position. A clearance requires the absence of any criminal charges or convictions related to this position.
The shift schedule for this position is as follows: Monday to Friday 8:00-6:00pm.
