Overview of position:
With the ongoing protracted conflict, access challenge in some places & the scale of the child response, including responding to the continuation of the conflict & pockets of intensified conflict, including areas not directly accessible by our clients personnel, there is a need for additional support to existing Child Protection Officers & implementing partners on multiple aspects of the Child Protection in Emergencies (CPIE) program implementation. Aligned with our clients core commitments for Children, they deliver the following CPIE interventions across the country in Yemen to respond to the protracted emergency impacts:

Reporting & verification of grave child rights violations.
Resilience building initiatives for care givers & children through a network of community spaces.
Life saving messages on the risks posed by mines & unexploded ordinances to children & their caregivers.
Critical child protection services (case management focused on family tracing & reunification & GBV response & access to victims’ assistance & socio economic empowerment opportunities MHPSS, explosive ordnance risk education etc.)

The role will entail providing practical support, particularly in areas where our client has limited access, focusing on field monitoring visits, liaison between our client & their partners, administrative support to coordination functions, documenting good practices & human interest stories & a range of administrative support tasks.

Planning, coordination & partnerships:
Support with multisectoral micro planning at all system levels including at community level.
Support FO coordination efforts with other UN agencies & NGO’s in delivering coordinated services.
Support FO to plan for & conduct monthly / quarterly progress meetings with IP’s (government & NGO partners).
Provide support to Sub National Cluster Coordinator on logistics for meetings, regularly update the 4W & list of existing actors on the ground, writing & distributing meeting notes & following up with partners on the status of agreed actions.
Support FO staff with any of child protection Program Cooperation Agreements (PCA’s) at field level.
Assist the Child Protection Officers verification of beneficiary or payee lists & any other related tasks.

Child protection technical program support:
Undertake field monitoring visits to our clients program implementation sites & produce reports articulating strengths, progress against expected results, challenges, good practices & areas of needed improvement.
Collate information on needs, gaps, challenges, opportunities & the situation in hard to reach areas & draft reports for the relevant field office to consider.
Ensure liaison between our client & their partners, government representatives in areas that our client is unable to access, in collaboration with CP Officers.
Support FO child protection staff on the processing & follow up on child protection related payments.
Provide support to partners in hard to reach locations to participate in the monthly CPWG meetings (for example ensuring access to a meeting room with internet capacity or facilitating phone link up.
Draft & share internal & external meeting notes & track actions.

Child protection information management, assessments & reporting:
In collaboration with Child Protection Information Officer support the submission of timely & quality child protection related information.
Participate in & support regular child protection assessments if needed.
Tracking & archiving the capacity building activities & supervision reports for the partners & TPM.
Participate in & support child protection related program evaluations.

Child protection supplies management:
Support child protection program staff & respective MoSAL on the proper planning & distribution of the child protection supplies.
Provide monthly updates on child protection supply stock levels at WHs, district & governorate levels to ensure intact supply chain system & ensure the contingency stock at all levels.
Monitor the use of supplies at CP facility levels & provide reports on the proper use of our clients supplies.

Deliverables include ensuring quality of service provision through:
Monthly child protection progress report based on agreed up on parameters & indicators.
Monthly monitoring reports.
Other reports in line with work plan key tasks articulated in scope of work (includes donor reports, reports).
Real time flagging of issues (e.g., child protection supply stock outs, pending payments or accountabilities etc.).
Final consultancy report.

Project reporting:
This role reports to the line manager.

Key competencies:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or any other related qualifications.
At least 2 year’s work experience in child protection, social work or related program, child protection services delivery in Yemen.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in child protection related work.
Previous work experience in emergencies is an advantage.
Demonstrated experience in field work especially rural & hard to reach areas & in various locations across Yemen.
Must be fluent in & good working knowledge of English is required.
Demonstrated experience in field work especially rural & hard to reach areas.
Practical program management experience.
Experience in training & development of training materials.
Experience in report writing in English.
Strong analytical skills, communication & negotiation skills.
Computer literacy with a full knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Communications skills,social development oriented is desired.
