Job Details
Job Purpose:
The Child Development Specialist shall identify, assess, and monitor children and provide interventions and referrals as appropriate while working as part of a field team
Key Activities/Tasks/Duties:
– Running the SENED’s Action Plan specific to the project according to the capacity of the region.
– Evaluate child’s responses to determine levels of child’s physical and mental development. Follow-up and evaluation of child safety issues.
– To determine parents’ ability to comprehend for applying behavior modification techniques to the family.
– Develops group and individual teaching plan covering self-help, motor, social, cognitive, and language skills development.
– Instruct parents individually or in groups in behavior modification, physical development, language development, and conceptual learning exercises and activities.
– Counsel parents and organizes groups of parents in similar situations to provide social and emotional support for parents.
– Prepares regular statistical and narrative reports and reporting on a subject-specific basis and weekly/monthly.
Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities /accountability may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart.
**Required Qualifications (Education/Languages/Work Experience)**Identify training and Essential:
A. Essential:
– Bachelor’s degree in child development, psychological counseling and guidance or related department in either social studies or health programs.
– Evaluating and monitoring children to determine physical and mental development, including social, motor development, self-help, cognitive and language skills.
– Documenting activities, tracking progress, and formulating activity plans, including exercises and activities for parents
– Interacting with parents individually or in group settings, Consulting with other professionals, organizations, and providers, such as social service agencies
– Interact effectively and positively with diverse and multi-cultural individuals including young children.
– Fluent in the Turkish language
– Intermediate level in the English language
– Minimum of 1 year of proven experience in a similar position.
B. Desirable
– Advanced skills in report writing.
– Advanced level in Arabic language
– Experience in humanitarian work and principles.
– Experience in working with PwDs (People with Disabilities)
– Experience in working in safeguarding sector with Emergency response.
