Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) Coordinator – Adults Services

What is the job?

The postholder will be responsible for coordinating the Child Death Review (CDR) process within City and Hackney, as well as across the wider CDR footprint. New CDR processes are being implemented, which may result in the centralization of this role, and this will be discussed with the post holder at the appropriate time.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a hardworking, motivated, and resilient individual with experience delivering high-quality administrative and office systems, preferably in a local government or equivalent setting. You will be able to provide comprehensive assistance and administrative support to the Director of Public Health in their role as Chair of Child Death Overview Panels by working sensitively, flexibly and collaboratively.

You will have strong communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders in a challenging and demanding work environment. You will have prior experience managing multiple tasks at the same time and meeting deadlines and targets through effective project management skills.

The successful applicant will be a professional first point of contact for all child deaths in the City of London or Hackney, with primary responsibilities including informing all relevant professionals of child deaths in the City of London or Hackney, maintaining individual electronic case files, convening rapid response meetings for unexpected child deaths, and maintaining a database of child deaths in the City of London and Hackney.
