Aflatoun International is a non-profit organization, which offers social, financial & entrepreneurship education to children and young people worldwide, empowering them to make a positive change for a more equitable world.

Aflatoun International is in the process of strengthening the diversification of its income streams. Consequently, Aflatoun decided to create a for-profit entity “Aflaventures” to engage with the private sector to generate revenue for the Foundation. The goal of Aflaventures is to allow Aflatoun International to sustain its activities and expand its programmes. Among the different services and products that Aflaventures will be offering, a big focus will be on developed digital resources for the education sector.

We are currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Chief Product Officer to join us in our mission.

Position

The Chief Product Officer’s main responsibilities is to design the digital educational resources based on the requests from the partners. The CPO will report directly to the managing director within Aflaventures.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Lead the Digital Development Department

  • Design the digital educational products to generate revenue for Aflaventures
  • Contribute to the Development of proposals and pitches to potential partners and clients
  • Manage specific clients and partners
  • Supervise and manage the product owner who is responsible of the digital development team.
  • Collaborate with the digital & innovations department at Aflatoun

Key deliverables

  • The products designed respond to the client’s expectations and needs

Non-technical responsibilities

  • Positively contribute to team discussions and the effective running of the company;
  • Cross-departmental collaboration, compliance with organisational policies and procedures;
  • Promote Aflaventures’s work on different channels;
  • Perform other duties and tasks, consistent with the skills and expertise, as required in non-routine circumstances;

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in instructional design and multimedia design
  • Experience in developing courses, videos and other assets
  • Experience in using digital product development tools like Captivate, Articulate or similar including learning management systems as well as MOOCs
  • Ability to translate educational request into suitable design
  • Ability to develop procedures and templates for digital content
  • Process and project management experience
  • Experience in educational technology including the use of hardware devices teaching and learning
  • At least 10 years work experience relevant to the job
  • Experience in working in a multicultural environment
  • Capacity to work with a remote team
  • Knowledge of digital pedagogies including game-based learning and learning frameworks
  • Experience working in the education field
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in English. Knowledge in Spanish, Arabic, French or Russian is an advantage
  • Proven track record in delivering results
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to work under pressure; flexibility
  • Ability to learn quickly and on the job
  • Strong computer skills, including sound knowledge Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite

Employment details

The position is for a full time. We offer a dynamic and pleasant multicultural working environment. Since the position will be based outside of the Netherlands, Aflatoun will be offering a package that compensate the individuals for pension, health insurance, holiday allowance, and national insurance contributions – the salary level awarded will depend on relevant work experience and educational background as well as the type of contract to be offered.

The screening will cover up to 10 years. Only the data relevant for the screening of the position will be collected. In case the candidate is not selected for the position, the data will be destroyed 4 weeks after the closing of the position.

For technical positions, an additional written test may be required.
