As our COO / CFO you will need to pull on those strengths and partner with the CEO, CRO and the VPs of Business Development, Marketing and Engineering to grow and scale the business. The culture at our company is entrepreneurial, fast paced and collaborative. As a leader coming into this role, you are a seasoned, C-suite Executive with SaaS startup experience optimizing operational and financial processes and has successfully engaged with investors and partners to lead fund raising and M&A activities.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

The COO / CFO will report directly to the CEO and will collaborate closely with him and the Chief Revenue Office as part of the Leadership team. Key responsibilities are:

  1. Own all Operational processes
  2. HR: recruitment, on and off-boarding, payroll, benefits, along with software platforms and suppliers involved
  3. IT: ensure team has access to appropriate software tools for email, product planning, instant messaging, software development, etc.
  4. Customer Support: set up and manage Customer Support team and process, and ensure clear and successful integration with engineering (local & remote)
  5. Legal: manage production/review of appropriate documents to support fundraising, customer acquisition, HR, etc.
  6. Manage & maintain operational dashboards including BI/scorecards/reporting
  7. Participate & contribute to strategic planning, including development and validation of SaaS business, pricing, and go-to-market model
  8. Support fund-raising (and future M&A) activities through participation in calls/meetings, production of appropriate materials, and use of existing network of contacts
  9. Manage Financial Planning, auditing, and compliance

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 15yrs+ relevant experience as a CFO and/or COO
  • SaaS company background
  • Grew company from $15M in Revenue
  • At least one successful exit in which the candidate was a primary participant
  • Must have (recent) startup experience
  • Comfortable playing two roles in company
  • Self-directed, comfortable working with minimal direction when required
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Effective communication skills – written and verbal
  • Good with people; able to capture requirements and work with customer Subject Matter Experts, and customer IT teams
  • Comfortable in a remote team

 

Other Relevant Skills:

  • Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Reviews the planning process and suggests improvements to current methods.
  • Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
  • Works with the President and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
  • Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
  • Identifies opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
  • Oversees investment of funds and works with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion.
