The Role
Brigshaw Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Operating Officer to join our team! This is a great time to join us as we enter the next phase of our journey.
- We have a new CEO and ambitious plans to deliver a transformative cradle to career education for children in our community of seven schools
- You’ll be joining a new central team, working alongside the CEO and FD to continue to raise standards in our schools and drive the trust forward
- This is a brand new position with scope to shape the role and the organisation
As our Chief Operating Officer, we are seeking an inspiring leader of people who will directly influence the Trust’s strategy by leading on the operational services and business plans that will allow us to continue to provide a cradle to career education that affords our children lives of choice and opportunity.
This role presents many opportunities for an ambitious, experienced operations professional to lead and shape a function and a wide range of services across our seven schools, as well as to contribute to the development of the wider organisation. You will directly impact on the lives of thousands of children in our community.
As Our Chief Operating Officer, You Will Be
- Accountable for the direct management and provision, including strategic planning and decision-making, of operational services to the wider Trust
- Leading, managing and developing the Trust’s Operations function to ensure that the Trust achieves its short and long-term objectives in line with the Trust’s over-arching strategy
- Refining, implementing and assuring the quality of the Trust’s new operating model (non-teaching), systems, policies and procedures to ensure that Trust operations (both central and school-based) achieve their business objectives.
- Lead a number of central support functions including HR, IT and Estates
- Improving operational delivery and customer / user service satisfaction
We Are Looking For Individuals Who Have
- Professional management experience of operational services across a multi-site environment at a senior level – from any background or industry
- A thorough, diligent, methodology-driven mind-set and able to shape the practice and systems adopted by the rest of the Central Team and school staff
- The ability to operate successfully at strategic level, working collaboratively with partner organisations with a record of translating organisational vision and strategy into operational requirements
- We would strongly welcome applicants who come from a Commercial, Corporate, HR, Educational, or Transformation background

All of our seven schools are located within a few minutes’ drive of each other, and have worked closely together for many years.
