This position will report directly to Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF).

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As Chief Information Officer (CIO), the successful candidate will be an executive that oversees the strategic information technology (IT) needs of AUIB.

CIO Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create business value through technology.
  • Strategic planning of business growth objectives.
  • Ensure tech systems and procedures lead to outcomes in line with business goals.
  • Oversee the development of customer service platforms.
  • Manage IT division and develop the teams.
  • Approve vendor negotiations and IT architecture.
  • Information risk management (IRM).
  • Establish IT policies, strategies, and standards.
  • Develop and approve technology futures and budgets.

As CIOs the successful candidate will be a crucial part of AUIB’s digital transformation. Focus on service, analysis, data security, and market reach.

 

Education, Training, & Certification:

The successful candidate will have education and experience in information technology, executive management role and deep business acumen.

  • Education: The CIOs will have an IT background; a business-related degree is essential. Minimum educational requirements: Master’s in Information Technology and a Business Degree.
  • Experience: Experience is an important factor to gain a role at this level. AUIB prefers at least 15 years of experience in executive management and IT management. Moreover, business acumen is a must.

CIO Skills & Competencies:

To be successful in this role, you’ll generally need the following skills and qualities: 

  • Strategic planning skills: The CIO will develop and implement strategies and plans to help AUIB reaches its goals.
  • Leadership skills: The CIO will be responsible for managing and leading a large team. The successful candidate forms part of the AUIB executive team and must be able to perform in a high-pressure environment.
  • Interpersonal skills: The CIO must be able to work effectively with leaders in different business units to ensure a comprehensive IT strategy that benefits the entire company. IT is seen as a service agent to AUIB.
  • Change management skills: Companies must adapt to advances in technology in order to succeed, and the CIO is at the forefront of in achieving this successfully for AUIB. Must be able to demonstrate a record in successful change management.
