LifeShare Blood Center

LifeShare is seeking an experienced business or operations support professional as our Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The CAO provides strategic direction and oversight of the Company’s administrative and daily operational activities and procedures, in support of the Company’s strategic goals and business plan and in compliance with policies, standard operating procedures and applicable legal and regulatory guidelines. Primary areas of responsibility include human resources, safety, risk management, quality control and assurance, regulatory compliance, and information systems and technology. These support services are key to advance our mission and help ensure a safe blood supply is available at healthcare centers in our community when needed for traumas, therapies and treatments.

Please join us in our important mission to connect blood donors and the lives they impact!

Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the CAO develops and administers Company-wide policies and practices to facilitate business operations and manage risk exposures; ensures compliance with applicable laws, standards and regulations governing various areas of responsibility; provides executive oversight of the Company’s IT infrastructure, including computer software systems, servers and networks, enterprise systems and business continuity protocols; provides high level direction of quality assurance activities and regulatory affairs to ensure achievement of Company goals and objectives and compliance standards and regulations governing the blood banking industry; provides executive leadership of human resources, employee health and safety, employee benefit plan operations, commercial and professional liability insurance programs, donor claims management, and other risk management efforts; and oversees LifeShare Phlebotomy School operations to ensure all accreditation requirements are met.

The ideal candidate has a master’s degree in a business-related discipline or equivalent experience and background in business administration, human resources management, legal compliance or risk management, including supervisory experience in the direction and coaching of other employees. They champion teamwork, communication and continuous improvement and have a passion for service to our community.

Beginning base salary is $135,000 – 150,000, commensurate with experience. LifeShare offers a generous benefits package, including employer-paid medical, life and disability insurance; employer base retirement and matching contributions (6%) to the 401(k) savings plan, paid time off, and employee wellness program.

Since 1942, LifeShare has operated blood centers to facilitate generous donors sharing the Gift of Life. Today, we provide blood components to medical facilities throughout Louisiana, east Texas, and south Arkansas and continue our pursuit of excellence to achieve and maintain the highest levels of service to donors and patients alike. Cutting edge work in rare blood trait identification has led to LifeShare’s leadership position in providing rare blood components to patients nationally and internationally. In 2019, LifeShare expanded to create two new divisions — LifeShare Tissue Services provides select tissue needs to customers, while LifeShare Cellular Services provides clinical and research expertise to develop material and treatments through a state-of-the-art cellular laboratory. In 2020, LifeShare continued to expand, establishing LifeShare Phlebotomy School and LifeShare Plasma Services.
