Job Advert Role Description
Priory Adult Care have an opportunity for an experienced, forward thinking Chef to join our catering team. The Chef position would be required for our 24 bedded care home Orchid Lawns. The care home is designed for older people with dementia. The home provides a specialist dementia nursing service.
- The hours are 7:30am – 3pm, days can be flexible but include alternate weekends**
You Will
As Chef it will be your responsibility to plan, prepare and present high quality food and hospitality for our residents. Working to the highest of standards, ensuring dietary requirements of all the residents are met.
- Assist the Home Manager with menu creation, ensuring a nutritious, varied menu is available
- Ensure all food preparation meets the requirements of COSHH, Food safety and health & safety regulations
- Manage food budgets and stocks, checking deliveries as required and placing them in the appropriate storage areas.
- Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in all areas of the kitchen
- Overall kitchen staff management, training, recruiting and rotas.
- The hours will be worked between Monday to Saturday on a rota basis with other team members.
We are looking for a confident individual with a creative flare, someone who has relevant experience in a similar sized kitchen and qualifications in food hygiene, prep and cookery. This challenging role promises good onward progression the successful applicant; you will need to have the, ability to think on your feet, a passion for food and the service you provide.
