Charity Manager

Are you passionate about education, teaching and working with children and young people?

We are looking for a Charity Manager to manage all aspects of a small educational charity in this rewarding hybrid and flexible working role.

Position: Charity Manager

Location: Bristol or Oxford/hybrid with flexible working

Hours: Part time – 30 hours / 4 days a week (with possibility of full-time work for right candidate)

Salary: £33,000 – £38,000 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)

Contract: Permanent

Benefits: 27 days, plus 8 bank holidays (pro rata), flexible working plus a day off for your birthday!

The Role

As Charity Manager, you will manage all aspects of a small educational charity, leading the staff team, maintaining oversight of programme delivery, managing operations, and working with the board of trustees to develop and implement the strategic plans.

Your key responsibilities would include:

  • Staff management, leadership and HR
  • Operational oversight
  • Strategic oversight
  • Finance and Fundraising
  • Networking and publicity
  • Legal and Administrative tasks
  • Working with the Board of Trustees

About You

We are looking for someone with experience of leadership, including managing innovative projects and monitoring their impact and of building and managing a team of staff and/or volunteers. We are really keen to hear from people who show commitment to education and/or work with young people/experience teaching.

It would also be beneficial in the role to have experience of some of the below:

· Growing up in the UK speaking English as an additional language and/or lived experience of forced migration

· Familiarity with Bristol and/or Oxford and their diverse communities

· Teaching/supporting English language learners

· Managing a budget and fundraising in order to meet it, including through writing funding applications

· Building relationships and working effectively with partner organisations

· Writing and/or reviewing organisational policies and procedures

· Serving as a Designated Safeguarding Lead

Operating in Bristol and Oxford, the charity supports 100-150 children in each city. Supporting young people from marginalised communities who use English as an additional language, it provides bespoke language learning programmes delivered by the amazing team of volunteers.
