The opportunity

Battersea is in an exciting period of change and innovation. In order to transform the way we manage and utilise data about our animals and supporters, we currently have an organisation-wide programme of work called Launchpad. To ensure successful delivery of this project, we need to build the skills of our colleagues so that we’re ready to use our new systems and make best use of the information we have.

The Change Communications Manager will apply specialist change communications and engagement skills to support the Launchpad project. You will develop communications and engagement strategies that deliver compelling messaging around the changes to our stakeholders. You will be working directly with all our Battersea teams to inform, engage and support our people through change.

This change project is already in motion, providing you strong foundations to the communication strategy. Working at an arm’s length to our communication team, you will have the autonomy and ownership over your work, whilst still maintaining the support and collaboration with the wider team.

In return for your commitment to our cause and to recognise the value of our employees, Battersea offers a range of benefits to support the wellbeing of our employees. These include:

  • 28 days of annual leave (plus 8 days paid public holidays) per year
  • Discounted gym memberships and cycle to work schemes
  • Access to Institute of Internal Communications Professional Membership
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Generous pension contributions – up to 10% employer contribution
  • Free healthcare cash plan, where you can claim for a range of treatment including dental (£100), optical (£100), physiotherapy, chiropody and acupuncture (£325) every year
  • Annual interest-free season ticket loans
  • Life insurance

We are also committed to providing learning and development to our employees. During your time with us, we provide support for your professional and career development, including access to digital and in-person training programmes, leadership and management training, mentoring and much more.

Our Hybrid working policy

We operate a 50% onsite hybrid working model, with our office-based staff splitting their time between site based and home working. This enables our office-based staff to maintain the benefits of home working, while allowing for collaboration and maintaining a connection to our cause. In addition to this, our offices are in a great location within London, have modern facilities, offer great socialising spaces and a discounted café. Best of all, coming on site offers you the opportunity to meet our lovely rescues with lunchtime cat socialising and the occasional office dog!

Equality, diversity and inclusion

At Battersea, we are committed to providing equal opportunities and developing a diverse workforce and inclusive culture in all aspects of our organisation. We aim to ensure that this pledge, reinforced by our values, is embedded in our day-to-day working practices and our work together.

By hearing from and valuing different experiences, perspectives and contributions, we know we can provide the best expert care for every dog and cat who needs us. We particularly welcome applications from people with disabilities and from members of minority ethnic communities, who we know are currently under-represented at Battersea.

As a Disability Confident Committed employer, we’re happy to discuss any support or personalisation you may need during your application and/or interview process as part of our workplace adjustments. Please contact [email protected].

More about us

At Battersea, we aim to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help. We give each one lots of love, expert care and get to know their characters and quirks so we can find them a new home that’s just right for them. Join us and help us be here for every dog and cat, wherever they are, for as long as they need us.
