You will advise on Health, Safety and Environmental issues and assist the Group Head of Health, Safety and Environmental in the development of policy and practice as well as promoting and developing a positive health and safety culture throughout the Group.
This is role is largely based on sites throughout the Liverpool, Warrington and St Helens areas with some office working also involved.

This Is An Important Role In Which You Will
- Support the Health Safety and Environment Lead and Business Partner in ensuring compliance with the responsibilities of the principal designer, informing and assisting clients in discharging their duties at each stage of the process under the CDM 2015 Regulations, including ensuring suitable management arrangements are in place throughout the project;
- Establishing a record of principles and decisions taken in relation to health and safety from design inception then monitoring and reporting to completion
- Visiting sites and carrying out an initial appraisal to establish existing hazards and site restrictions
- Advising and assisting clients in the appointment of designers and contractors, reviewing H&S implications of procurement methods in respect of CDM 2015 regulations
- Carrying out design reviews
- Ensuring that designers have considered and established safe methods for construction of unusual or complex designs
- Compiling and issuing pre-construction information to the design team and principal contractors
To Be Successful In This Role You Will
- Hold a recognised health and safety qualification, NEBOSH certificate and will be a certified or incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (CMaPS /IMaPS) or equivalent
- Hold an IOSH membership
- Have experience of delivering CDM coordinator / principal designer services (as defined in the CDM 2015 regulations) to a range of sector clients
- Have thorough knowledge of all relevant legislation applicable to health and safety particularly construction and the CDM regulations
- Have an excellent understanding of current legislation relating to construction along with experience and working knowledge of ISO standards
- Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Have experience of managing change through combining excellent project management skills with an inclusive style to delivery intelligence led improvements
- Be an excellent communicator
- Hold a full clean driving licence
