General context of the project

Increase protection awareness among refugees fleeing Ukraine to find safe haven in Moldova and most vulnerable groups and provide access to community-based protection services delivered by INTERSOS, including PFA and specialized PSS. It also aims at strengthening the capacity of the local community CBOs in protection-related subjects​

General purpose of the position

Under the supervision of the Project Manager will coordinate the sub-granting component with a NGO specialized on GBV. The officer will decide jointly with the partner schedule of activities, set targets, discuss challenges, ensure reporting and supervising their activities. The Officer will support and facilitate the partners activities in the field and facilitate the standardization of policies and tools. CBO officer will also draft reports for the donor and internal along with financial planning. The officer will also assist in the service mapping at national level, assessing the services and capacities of different CBOs and CBOs and will submit reports. As well the CBO Officer will support the Project Manager particularly acting as liaison with all relevant authorities and protection activities stakeholders when requested.​

Main responsibilities and tasks

  • Organize the activities and working schedule of sub-granting partner
  • Monitoring and Supervising the sub-granting activities and performance
  • Support and assist the daily activities of the sub-granting partner in the field
  • Reporting on the sub-granting partner daily activities and any other type of reporting requested by the supervisor.
  • Reporting on conditions on the ground and challenges.
  • Carry out assessments with the partners and extend service mapping
  • Collect relevant project data
  • Liaise with relevant authorities and project stakeholders in her/his geographical area of competency, make and maintain contacts
  • Coordination at field level with partners and relevant stakeholders
  • Support the Project Manager in understanding priorities and planning protection activities
  • Assist the Project Manager in compiling due reports
  • Conduct meetings at field level
  • Conduct training
  • Conduct weekly coordination meetings
  • Carry out all tasks respecting key protection principles including but not limited to: do no harm, non-discrimination, confidentiality, accountability and need-to-know principles
  • Support sensitization, information dissemination and awareness raising activities
  • Support internal audits to subgranting partner
  • Prepare financial plans

Required profile and experience

Education

University Degree in relevant field (Social Sciences, Humanitarian sector and other related fields)​

Professional Experience

One year of relevant working experience in the protection sector and management​

Professional Requirements

  • Knowledge of international protection in the humanitarian context
  • Knowledge in other protection areas (i.e. case management, psychosocial support activities etc.) and project management tools (reporting, planning etc.) and monitoring.
  • Essential computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Leadership, planning and organizational skills
  • Respect and non-discriminatory attitude
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Report writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team

Languages

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) essential
  • Knowledge of Romanian/Ukrainian/Russian desirable
