Job Summary
As Demand Planning Data Scientist, you will join a team which focuses on developing our forecasting processes through analytics. You should have business and communication skills and able to explain complex solutions to people from various functions and hierarchical levels. You should be comfortable to work in challenging environments with a passion for data analytics and how it drives change. By Joining the demand planning team, your contributions will drive the next generation of demand planning decisions and forecasting actions within the Caterpillar RIOP team. In this role, you will also be joined by a team of demand planners, along with the support from other Data analysts/Data Scientists from multiple Cat divisions.
What You Will Do
Drive for continuous improvement within an agile development team
Understand business needs and ability to communicate key points
Deliver insight to support business decisions
Provide relevant visualization to generate business insight
Leverage analytical & data science skills for on demand planning development; or project-based analytics
Trusted Advisor for establishing data requirements according to business objectives
Predictive learning statistical development
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of Data Science experience
Very strong analytical skills
Strong knowledge, and extensive experience using Python
Robust knowledge of SQL
Robust visualization skills – Tableau, Power Bi
History of data modelling (Will be required to show examples of the above as part of application process)
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Machine learning exposure
Alteryx knowledge
Ability to work with technical & non-technical stakeholders to deliver analysis and insight
Good working knowledge of data warehouse management
Bachelor’s degree in computer science; data science or equivalent experiences
Subject matter expert on data best practices
Attention to details
Knowledge of Data Governance practices and processes
Knowledge of Data systems: AWS, Azure, Version Control (git)
