As the Care Home Practitioner at Richmond Village Aston, you’ll motivate and supervise our care team, working alongside our Nurse to ensure the highest standard of care is provided.

What Your Role Involves

  • Ensure new residents are orientated into their surroundings and introduced to residents and staff, and the appropriate documentation is completed on time.
  • Assess the resident’s physical, psychological and social needs and draw up a care profile
  • Plan, implement and evaluate care in accordance with the resident’s needs.
  • Continuously evaluate care needs with other members of the clinical team and seek to improve the care delivered to residents.
  • Help residents to understand the ageing process and how it affects their health and lifestyle.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary shift team, supervising staff in all respects including orientation of new staff, appraisal, training and development of care staff, ensuring senior carers are organising and co-ordinating their duties.
  • Complete observations, competency assessments and training with care team members whilst also ensuring buddies support new starters.
  • Ensure that documentation relating to the delivery of care is completed accurately, legibly and in accordance with company standards.
  • Comply with BUPA Standards for Medicine Management at all times and ensure processes are adhered to for the safe ordering, custody, storing, disposing and administration of all medication.
  • Manage stocks of all supplies effectively and economically and ensure the timely order of replenishment stocks.
  • Work co-operatively with activities staff to ensure residents spiritual and social needs are met.
  • Proactively develop professional and clinical skills in order to enhance the knowledge and skills needed for safe and effective practice.
  • Assist with the investigation of any complaints and incidents and ensure DATIX is updated, RCAs completed and documents uploaded as required.
  • Keep the Head of Care informed of any relevant issues.
  • Enforce good infection control procedures and lead by example

Who We’re Looking For

The successful applicant will have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care. You will have the a bility to assess, plan, implement and evaluate resident care and act accordingly if untoward changes occur and will have practical experience of providing high quality care and exceeding expectations. You will have an understanding of the Professional Code of Conduct and an understanding of the National Minimum Care Standards Act, you will have the ability to motivate and work with a team of staff, leading by example. You work well as part of a team, sharing best practise to help deliver outstanding care to our residents.
