Hours: Full-time

Remuneration: Up to £38,000 gross annual (dependent on experience)

Duration: 2 year fixed term contract (starting April 2022)

Location: Remote or Manchester, UK (Hybrid working available)

Are you an experienced project manager with a solid background in international NGOs and capacity building?

UK-Med is a humanitarian NGO that has been responding to disasters for over thirty years. Our medical teams respond to disasters around the world and we work with local and regional partners to build their resilience to future threats. UK-Med are seeking an experienced project manager to lead the implementation of UK-Med’s responsibilities in the READY Initiative in the coming programme period. The READY Initiative is a consortium of partners working to augment global capacity to respond to major disease outbreaks

As our new Capacity Building Project Manager, you will play an essential role in ensuring that UK-Med delivers high-quality capacity building activities, manages relationships effectively and contributes actively to the strategic direction of the work of the READY Initiative. You will sit in the Learning & Capacity Building Team and work closely with the Head of Learning & Capacity Building. You will bring solid expertise and experience in working successfully in consortia, managing complex projects and delivering quality training and capacity building programmes. You will also bring experience of developing high-quality e-learning courses.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about both UK-Med’s humanitarian mission and be excited about working closely with various partners to deliver a challenging programme to very high standards. You will be willing to spend significant time delivering in-person training to national partners in humanitarian contexts, be able to adapt your communication and learning style to different contexts and partners and have a sharp eye for quality assurance of capacity building and learning resources and activities.

You will be an efficient project manager who can manage various deadlines and workstreams independently. You will be comfortable working at pace, be flexible and willing to work across various time-zones, and you will thrive on achieving your own as well as our collective objectives and meeting rapidly changing demands.
