Call for Professional Consultancy Service- adoption of IPSAS

About CESVI

CESVI is a non-governmental development organization, the headquarters established a presence in Italy and engaged in Since 1985, CESVI has worked all over the world to support the most vulnerable populations in the promotion of human rights, in the realization of their aspirations, for sustainable development. CESVI has gained experience in drought response projects, particularly in Kenya and Somalia – the two most affected countries in the Horn of Africa together with Ethiopia.

In Ethiopia, CESVI has been registered since 2018. It currently has an ongoing intervention financed by AICS whose objective is to promote income-generating activities for young people with disabilities; the project “MAPS – Migration and Access to Protection and Basic Services: integrated interventions on the eastern migratory route – AID 12025″ in Dire-Dawa, Harar and Chiro; the initiative ” Humanitarian/Development/Peace Nexus Initiative in refugee camps and host communities of the Regional State of Benishangul-Gumuz (HUDEPE Benishangul-Gumuz)” AID 12279, together with CISP.

CESVI has been present in Borena since June 2021. Since April 2023, it has been implementing the project “Humanitarian / Development / Peace Nexus in agro-pastoral communities of refugees and host communities in Borena Oromia (HUDEPE Borena)” AID 12470, together with CISP. The intervention aims to strengthen resilience to climate shocks in the region’s most vulnerable communities by providing unconditional cash and essential inputs. HUDEPE Borena promotes training and an existing network of contacts with local authorities, with the involvement of communities that have already participated and benefited from CESVI activities in the area.

The Government of Ethiopia requires public interest entities that operate in Ethiopia to nationally transit to IPSAS. Some of the public interest entities that are subjected to the adoption are Charities and Societies.

CESVI has developed a road map for the adoption of IPSAS. As part of that road map, it would like to hire a consultancy firm that can provide technical assistance in the overall implementation of IPSAS.

The consulting firm should have the following qualifications and experience to carry out the assignment:

  1. Company/Firm/Business registration certificate with AABE and other applicable government registering office
  2. Renewed Trade License for 2015-2016 E.C.
  3. Tax Clearance Certificate for 2015-2016 E.C

The following are also the minimum requirements to be eligible for the consulting service:

  1. General experience: at least 5 (five) Years in the field of accountancy in the public/ private sector.
  2. Specific experience: the consultant must have at least 3 (Three) years of experience in the field of international public/ private sector financial reporting standards (i.e. IPSAS/ IFRS).

How to apply
